Staying Busy!

Hey guys!

First off, I want to apologize for not updating my blog on a regular basis... I usually have 7 1/2 hour shifts to 9 hour shifts every day. I have been soo exhausted that I just haven't been in the mood to update this blog! Did I mention that I have to update my vlog as well?

....

Let's see how that goes! haha :)

Check-In Day

Check-in day was a rather fast process! Check-in started at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, May 19th, but my parents made sure that I arrived an hour early. I met one of my apartment mates in line before meeting everyone else a few hours later once they got out of Casting. We managed to get the complex we wanted (Chatham), room size (4 bedrooms; 8 people), and amazing roommates! I am beyond thankful that we all mesh together so well. :D

Training for PhotoPass!

My first two training days started at Disney's Animal Kingdom Business Complex. The first day was about the basic outdoor and indoor camera settings such as ISO, metering, battery power, etc. My two trainers also ran over the Disney Basics for the new Disney Cast Member slogan: Safe-D Begins with Me! :)

My second day was about how to hold, operate, and use troubleshooting techniques with our Nikon cameras. We got to look at pictures from past PhotoPass CPers for future reference purposes. I cried when I looked at a few because I knew that I was going to make a child smile as they meet Mickey Mouse for the first time! I can finally be apart of a child's dream... That is definitely something to be excited about!

Third day of training was at Disney's Hollywood Studios! Did I mention that my home park IS Hollywood Studios? :) It was a lot of fun because my trainer let me go out for an hour to practice on park guests!

Once my training period was over, nerves started to hit me hard because the next day was my first day on the job by myself.

DAY ONE TO PRESENT! :D

I was really excited to finally start taking pictures of guests by myself without a trainer watching me nearby. Every job has their moments, right? Well, I am really frustrated with some of my pictures because they either show up crooked, t close, or blurry. I do believe that I am getting used to the weight of the camera now... we'll see what the week looks like ahead! :)

Stay tuned for more blog updates!
